Sorry I've been gone so long, this back to school thing is more time consuming then you'd think! I wanted to share an interesting tool that I was introduced to called Jing. What I like about Jing is that I can create tutorials or videos for lecture purposes and also provide student feedback for critique. The best feature about Jing is that it is an open source software, which is great for student/faculty usability! I love that this tool allows for authentic assessment and that it lends itself to enhance an online or hybrid learning environment.

As a design educator, I believe that online education is essential with the standard societal uses of technology, but I am perplexed at the thought of an entire program being put online without diluting the strength of the education received.
